Brooklyn Blooms

Brooklyn Blooms was commissioned by the Director of the Pratt Sculpture Park, David Weinrib. David asked me to create some work for the park. First, I made Seven Hearts. Two years later, I made Brooklyn Blooms. Its celebrates the life of Brooklyn.

It was made in 2009, out of cast colored cement. This was not my first time using cement. However, it was my first time using cement to make a sculpture. It had to be sturdy, to stand up to the elements. It took me four months to make.
