This was my first public commission. I made it by hand in 1991. It depicts a band playing in the lower East Side. To the left is a large ship, showing New York’s sea port history. To the right is the Williamsburg Bridge. The landscape is framed by details from old buildings. Today, it is at the East Broadway Station in Lower Manhattan.
