This was commissioned by the Brooklyn Navy Yard Museum in the summer of 2017. It was for the Shuttle Bus System. There was a call for art for the bus stop. Eight bus stops were available. There was a panel that selected the work. I chose that design because the Brooklyn Navy Yard is an Industrial Park. It needed some nature.

The Doctor Bird is unique to Jamaica. The hibiscus flower is also a tropical plant. I wanted the tropical wibe to contrast with the industrial nature.
